Polyflex
Applications
Primarily formulated for fluted Polyolefins (i.e. Correx® PolyFlex also adheres to self adhesive PVC’s, Acrylic and some
grades of treated polyethylene and polypropylene.
Recommendations made by Kromex are to help you match the ink to a particular job, our suggestions are to assist you
and do not amount to a guarantee - Never start a print run without first doing a test print and being sure that the chosen
ink matches your expectations. >
Thinning
PolyFlex inks should be thinned using Thinner 464. For detail work and/or printing in hot conditions use Retarder 465 as
part of all of the thinner. PolyFlex inks can be thinned 20-30%. If consistency needs to be retained, we recommend using
up to 5% (but no more than 10% as this may affect adhesion) of Gel Retarder 11756.
Coverage
The coverage and opacity achieved with PolyFlex inks are greatly influenced by the amount of added Thinner/Retarder,
mesh used, etc. Using a 100T Mesh and thinning 25% an approximate coverage of 70m2/ltr may be expected. >
Drying
Drying is by solvent evaporation and is influenced by the thinner/retarder used and the temperature and velocity of the air
over the print.
Useful Tip: If placing prints in a rack use a fan to blow air through the rack so that solvent vapour doesn’t built up - the
prints will dry quicker as a result. >
Cleaning
We recommend Screenwash 101 or Screenwash Extra 103 for cleaning screen and equipment. Where Health and Safety is
foremost we advise the use of KromaFresh 106. A non hazardous, biodegradable screenwash that has a lemon citrus
aroma, making the workplace a better place to be. To remove any stains that may occur use KromaStain 540, will
prolong the life of your mesh.
Health & Safety
We manufacture the full range of non-toxic PolyFlex inks. We also have 9 lead containing alternatives, which are very light
fast, less expensive and are made to order.
Note: Lead inks are NOT to be used on toys or food packaging, but as fluted polyolefins are not normally associated with
those markets, lead inks are perfectly ok to use for all other applications. Refer to separate Health and Safety sheet.
