Vynaflex
Applications
Self-adhesive vinyl’s and coated polyesters, Rigid PVC, ABS, CAB.
May be used for soft PVC. E.g. Banner material but for optimum results for this application, we recommend the Kromaflex
range of inks. For Vacuum forming use, KromaForm inks.
Recommendations made by Kromex are to help you match the ink to a particular job, our suggestions are to assist you
and do not amount to a guarantee - Never start a print run without first doing a test print and being sure that the chosen
ink matches your expectations.
Thinning
VynaFlex inks should be thinned using Thinner 404. For detail work and/or printing in hot conditions use Retarder 491 as
part or all of the thinner. For printing Rigid PVC, use Thinner 408. VynaFlex inks can be thinned up to 30%. To reduce the
level of gloss, use between 5 - 20% Matting Thinner 461 as part or all of the thinner. If consistency needs to be retained,
we recommend using up to 5% (but no more than 10% as this may affect adhesion) of Gel Retarder 436.
Coverage
The coverage and opacity achieved with VynaFlex inks is greatly influenced by the amount of added Thinner/Retarder,
mesh used, etc. Using a 100 T Mesh and thinning 25%, an approximate coverage of 70 m²/ltr may be expected.
Drying
Drying is by solvent evaporation and is influenced by the thinner used and the temperature and velocity of the air over the
print.
Cleaning
We recommend Screenwash 101 or Screenwash Extra 103 for cleaning screens and equipment. Where Health & Safety is
foremost, we advise the use of KromaFresh 106. A non-hazardous, biodegradable screenwash that has a citrus aroma,
making the workplace a better place to be.
To remove any stains that may occur use KromaStain 540, an efficient stain remover that will leave your screens looking
new again, used regularly, 540 will prolong the life of your mesh.
Health & Safety
We manufacture the full range of VynaFlex inks to conform to EN71. We also have nine lead containing alternatives
available upon request. Refer to separate Health & Safety sheet.
