GLOSSCOAT

GLOSSCOAT Applications
GlossCoat will adhere to many varied substrates. Some examples are paper & board, metals, wood & even glass!
Recommendations made by Kromex are to help you match the ink to a particular job, our suggestions are to assist you and do not amount to a guarantee - Never start a print run without first doing a test print and being sure that the chosen ink matches your expectations.

Thinning
GlossCoat inks can be thinned using Thinner 410 or white spirit, For detail work use Retarder 429 as part or all of the thinner. Glosscoat inks can be thinned up to 30%.

Coverage
The coverage and opacity achieved with GlossCoat inks is greatly influenced by the amount of added Thinner/Retarder and the choice of mesh and absorbency of the substrate.
Using a 100T Mesh and thinning 25% an approximate coverage of 55 m²/litre may be expected.

Drying
Drying is by oxidation. The drying time is influenced by the temperature and velocity of the air over the print. At 20°C allow up to 12 hours for the ink to oxidise thoroughly. The drying process can be accelerated by increasing the temperature the print is exposed to.
IMPORTANT : DO NOT allow the ink to dry on the screen, once dry it will NOT wash out !

Cleaning
We recommend that you use Screenwash 101 or Screenwash Extra 103 for cleaning up. Where Health & Safety is foremost we advise the use of KromaFresh 106. A non hazardous, biodegradable screenwash that has a citrus aroma, making the workplace a better place.
